Edenvale Library helps students with homework

Do your kids need help with their homework? Can’t find a quiet spot at home?

Bring your children to the library’s free Homework Center! It’s open Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the community room when school is in session. Mr. Imani Butler, the homework tutor, is available to help students in grades K – 12. The Homework Center is sponsored by the San Jose Public Library and the Boys and Girls Club of Silicon Valley. Some school supplies are provided.

Even when the Homework Center is closed, the library is a great place for children to do their homework because of all the available resources. We have books, of course, but so much more, including free public access computers loaded with word processing and other popular software. Librarians are available to help locate necessary materials. Our Kids and Teens web pages offer homework resources too, such as useful websites and suggested reading grouped by key subjects

Encourage your child to take advantage of Live Homework Help, a free one-on-one tutoring service covering math, science, history and English that is available 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Experienced tutors provide guidance in these subjects online at grade level 4 through sophomore year in college. To access this service, from a library computer or at home, go to the Kids or Teens page and click on the Live Homework Help icon. All you need is an active San Jose library card.
