Forrest Williams honors No Name Committee

District 2 Council member Forrest Williams, far right, honored the No Name Committee on Wednesday, Jan. 16 with the city's Good Neighbor Award at the State of the City program. He presented the commendation to three of the group's 20 members including, from the left, Susan Wright, Captain Dave Cavallaro and Fred McCasland. The committee was formed to address a various issues affecting District 2. It seeks to bring together educators, law enforcement and service providers to identify problems and issues affecting the youth of District 2. It also serves as a venue where members can advise others and inform themselves about best practices and solutions to problems that they are facing on a daily basis. At the core, its mission is to keep open the lines of communication between educators, law enforcement and service providers. Its efforts serve to reach many organizations that traditionally are not included in other City Gang Prevention efforts or other groups with a similar purpose.
