Jacquelyn Adams runs for City Council District 2
Oak Grove School District Board of Trustee Jacquelyn Adams has announced her candidacy for San Jose City Council District 2. District 2 Councilmember Forest Williams cannot run due to term limits.

“I am a candidate for City Council because of my experience both in the public and private sectors and my commitment to continue the vision established for District 2 by Councilman Forrest Williams,” said Adams.
Adams is currently employed with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. She is also serving her 16th year as a member of the Oak Grove School District Board of Trustees.
Adams was appointed by Mayor Chuck Reed and the City Council to the 2040 Envision San Jose General Plan Task Force. She is a former member of the San Jose Diversity Commission and the District 2 Advisory Committee.
Adams, who has more than 32 years of public service and private consulting experience, said she wants to help improve city government, making it more efficient, transparent and accountable to the people. She said she helped ensure two successful Parcel Tax elections to restore services and program for students. She also worked to help pass Measure A to improve facilities and services within the Oak Grove School District. Adams is recipient of numerous awards for community service.
Adams holds a BA n Sociology and Psychology from Morris Brown College and a Masters in Health form the University of Michigan. She resides in District 2 with her husband Henry, one adult son and a sophomore at Oak Grove High School.
