Edenvale Public Library Report
Business is booming at the Edenvale Public Library. Twelve hundred to 1,500 residents are visiting the library each day, making it one of the busiest branches in San Jose. Stop by and find out what many of your neighbors have discovered already.
In addition to books, magazines, movies, CDs, and newspapers, the library provides a wide range of free programs for people of all ages. Here’s a sampling of upcoming events:
Tuesday, Jan. 22

Voter Info: California Primary Feb. 5
This program features a demonstration of how to use the SmartVoter Web site to access information about the candidates, and will also provide voters with an explanation of the PROs and CONs for the ballot measures. Time permitting, there will be a question and answer session. This program is presented by the San Jose / Santa Clara League of Women Voters, a non-partisan political organization. This event takes place in the Community Room.
Saturday, Feb. 9

Come to the library and have your questions answered by the staff from SIREN (Services, Immigrant Rights, and Education Network). This free service is also provided in Cantonese, Mandarin,
Spanish and Vietnamese at selected locations. Contact the library for more details.

Silicon Valley Reads: Book Discussion, Refreshments and a Movie

A movie will be shown afterward. This program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Edenvale Library. This event takes place in the Community Room.
Ongoing programs for children include story times, homework help and craft programs. A teen volunteer program is underway and Internet classes are provided for adults.
Visit the new library and take advantage of all that it has to offer. If you do not have a San José Public Library card, getting one couldn’t be easier and it’s free! Plus you can use the same card at all of our 17 and growing number of locations.
